THE CONCEPT AND ORIGIN OF J.M.J DIVYAVANI:

Evangelization is the preaching of Christian Gospel or relaying information about a particular set of beliefs to others with the object of bringing them closer to God. On behalf of the wider Church and the Fathers, the mission of J.M.J Divyavani is to develop effective methods to invite people to believe in Jesus Christ as Catholics or to become active again in the Catholic faith, and to equip Catholics with the tools to further this invitation.

J.M.J.Bangalore province aiming to expand its Catechetical and Evangelization ministry in order to extend its services in our Catholic Church, in 2010-2011 studied the Catechetical activities of the province by visiting the communities with questionnaires. As we had been going around the province to study the situation we witnessed that the communities are practicing in transmitting faith in local levels. At the same time we found that there is a need for animation and use of various means to strengthen our Mission in effective manner. The Report of the findings was presented during General Body meeting in Banglalore. The Provincial and her Council decided to initiate a centre for Catechetics and Evangelization at St.Mary's convent Nellore. We are greatful to Sr.Sundari Singareddy the provincial superior and her Council and in a special way Sr.Showrilu Allam the former superior of St. Mary's Convent and community members for their timely guidance, inspiration and encouragement in bring this initiative into a reality.

THE FOUNDATION OF THE SOCIETY OF J.M.J

Our venerable & holy founder Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolff S.J Enamored by the person of Jesus, his vision & mission, planted the society of J.M.J in the garden of the church in Holland in the year 1822. The charism, he designed for the sisters, "AN EVER ADAPTABLE APOSTOLIC AVAILABILITY" was indeed his life pattern in order to have a firm solidarity with the world. The charism & spirituality have become the heritage of the society to keep the members, ever renewed with an inner freedom in seeking & doing the will of the Father.
